GO I’m blown away by the reception that Late Music is receiving. I gotta say that Pete, Chris, Steve and Chris and I worked our tails off rehearsing this material and our efforts were not for naught. The first two shows (both in November) were a blast.  I’ll never forget the wonderful vibe at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ and the warmth in the room the night we played The Bowery Electric in NYC. I was gassed to see so many friends, and pleasantly surprised to boot. We’ll be playing a few tunes at Maxwell’s on Sunday, December 13 at the Benefit Concert to Help Terry Karydes Beat Parkinsons Disease.  More info here Also, we’ll have news about some shows for early 2010 soon. What’s more, to send us off into the new year in fine fettle, Late Music received a four star review in the January MOJO. Yeah! And thanks to everyone who came out to see The Smithereens in ’09. We had some very memorable shows this year. Two of the highlights were the Rockin’ The Rivers festival in Three Forks, Montana (our first gig in that state) and Infinity Hall in Hartford, Connecticut. We hope to see all our friends, new and old, in those parts again soon. We appreciate your support for The Smithereens Play Tommy, an album that was fun to make and fun to play live. We hope to see you at the Strand Theater in Lakewood on Wednesday, December 9. Great venue, we had a nice show last time we played there! And come by The Lakeside Lounge in NYC on Thursday December 10. I’ll be playing with my good bud Jim Duffy. It will be the first gig for his new CD Mood Lit. Cool instrumentals, great players! Check Jim’s site for more info Stay tuned, I’m still getting off the ground with this site. Check my new feature “Picture Of The Day.” I’ve been digging through my stash, finding lots of fun shots. Hope to see you soon. Let’s grab a cup of cheer! My best, DD “If ever there were a 10-star pop (“psych”-, “power”- or otherwise) album this year, Late Music just may be the one. Critical hype? Nope — it’s that jawdroppingly good.” Fred Mills Blurt Magazine December is here. Hard to believe it! copyright Dennis Diken 2009 Contact info Brian Wilson 2009 Home
